PLACEMENT OF CHOICE

SUGGESTION OF DATES THAT WOULD SUIT
If its a big project, we suggest that you book a CONSULTATION, that’s always free of charge. During the consultation, we’ll start to do a rough sketch of your tattoo, and have a look at the placement and discuss some ideas.
Once you’ve done that and feel comfortable we’ll book you an appointment where you pay a deposit of 500/1000kr.
When you arrive on your booked date, we have a finished drawing for you. If you’d like to change anything, its always possible to do that before your session, but remember that there will be a slight change of price for the work the artist puts into your tattoo.
T O D O
BEFORE your tattoo session
A shower is always a good start to make sure your skin is clean.
A good meal so you have the energy
Comfortable clothes
A friend to talk to, sometimes our tattooist wants to focus on the work. Or use headphones so you get in the zone.
If you’ve got a longer session its always good to bring some snacks and something to drink.
DURING your tattoo session
If you don’t like the design even AFTER the changes your artist has made, you always have the chose of not getting the tattoo.
Any allergies, please inform your artist before
Dont touch your tattoo during session, if you accidentally do touch, just tell the artist and wash your hands.
Make sure you feel comfortable with the placement of your tattoo, the stencil is possible to move several times, however your artist may have some good ideas aswell.
Try to sit still, not move your head, arms or legs during the work, try to do that in between the pauses.
A break is always ok, but try to not have to many, because the longer the session, the longer the pain.
AFTER your tattoo session
Make sure you listen to the advices from the artist.
Read the aftercare sheet.
Buy the ointment thats recommended, however if you have any allergies, do tell the artist.
If you have any pets, change your bedsheets on and be careful that them little love balls don’t touch your fresh tattoo.
CARE ADVICE
The plastic Tegaderm can be kept up to a week. Leave it minimum 2 days.
What is normal: blood and ink will come out from your tattoo under the Tegaderm. There may be a small leak from your plastic cover, you can either clean the area with a wet pappertowel, or just remove the Tegaderm and start the process of cleaning it.
After 2-7 days, it’s time to remove it:
1. Gently remove the Tegaderm:
You can remove the plastic in the shower if you like, or just remove it in the bathroom where you can wash it.
2. Wash thoroughly with a gentle perfume free soap.
3. Let the tattoo air dry, do not use a towel to it dry.
4. MOISTURIZE
Always wash your hands before you apply the cream.
We recommend you use Bepanthen or Helosan – a thin layer will do, gently massage it into your skin. 1-3 times a day for 10 days.
If your tattoo feels dry, you can always moisturise it again.
After a few days, your tattoo could have a crust, and this will itch (a lot). The outer layer of your tattoo will flake away, this is part of the healing process.
Dont take too long showers, this could soften the crust and make it fall off too early.
DO NOT SCRATCH.
This could remove crust and damage your tattoo.
Scratching may infect your skin and delay the healing process.
Tap it instead or apply moisturising cream.
Important to remember before the tattoo is healed:
· Have clean clothes and clean bedding, if you have animals, make sure they don’t lick/touch your tattoo.
· No sun, swimming, solarium, sauna for about 3 weeks. You can work out after a few days.
· And don’t forget, your skin is the biggest organ, make sure to take care of it and your new tattoo with sunscreen.
Good luck with your new tattoo, best regards Squid & Ink!
